Yippee - just seen the Doctor and can start just using 1 crutch and then walking short distances without the crutch after the weekend. Should be able to get rid of them completely within the next couple of weeks, once I've strengthened up my leg. Will need to use both at the weekend as going to the Harrogate Spring Flower Show on Sunday so should be lots of new photos of plant displays and cut flowers appearing from next week. In the meantime I have some photos from my garden and short walks around the area which will be appearing in the next few days.
Thanks to everyone who has sent me their best wishes since the hip replacement. The kind words and support have been much appreciated.
I've been playing with DAMuro a bit recently and decided to see what could be done with photos of peacock feathers. Started with a single feather and then moved on to the body and most of the tail of a peacock. After that I had a photo of several tail feathers and decided to see how it could be adapted by using the smudge tool in damuro to get a range of different effects. Some of my favorites appear below - thanks to the new version of Journal which is being beta tested at the moment.

Other than that I've been looking at photos from a trip to Rome I made and have uploaded my favorites.

Also been able to get out of the house a bit now the weather is better and there is no risk of my crutches slipping - only 3 more weeks before I get rid of them. Added a few photos from outside

.... and will have some from a bouquet of flowers to add next - it was my 26th wedding anniversary on 4th April so have some lovely photos of roses and other flowers to upload next.
Really like the new Journal additions for adding stuff from Sta.sh, deviantART etc. and hope it is rolled out soon.

| My day job is doing research on marine environmental protection and maritime policy - I am passionate about making sure the seas are safe and clean for everyone to use. My husband reckons I must have been an elf in a previous life - aren't elves attracted to the sea? I would really like to live near the sea at some point, rather than in Leeds (UK) but at least it is a green city and I live near Roundhay Park. Ideally I would spend my winters on Mallorca (somewhere near Puerto Pollensa would be great) and then spend my summers in North Wales. Oh well, maybe at some point in the future. My hobbies are photography - obviously - and gardening - also obviously considering how many of my photos are of flowers and plants. I am also keen on walking in the hills around North Wales, holidaying ever year in that area (mostly in Porthmadog) with my family. I also read a lot and do various types of needlecraft - embroidery, tapestry, patchwork, knitting and crochet. I hope you enjoy my photos - I really enjoy taking them. |
